Aesthetic & Mission
It all started when the world seemed to stop and when people no longer gathered or so took intelligently to not gather and to remain apart. In the height of Covid 19, the founder and editor set on starting a literary magazine. Of all times, too. After having been on the editorial board a second time of someone else's project and there being fall out or non-egalitarian motions, he set forth to revive the act of publishing. Plenty of time to daydream and layout ideas, little amount of cash to do online format, and a few folks in mind to help start the initial masthead.
Years later, the concept has been clarified & distilled. The table, or a centerpiece similar, is where we congregate to share in food and tell stories. The feast, no matter how humble, is an act as old as our species that creates security and balance. Although our literary magazine is “table//FEAST”, we do not seek food themed work. The spirit therein lies that we use food and beverage to congregate to launch publications and fundraise.
We seek to uplift voices at the table. We curate each issue like a set of seasonal menus that the terroir of imagination can only provide. We pay contributors when we can. We are an annual print publication. We are table//FEAST.
